Sensorimotor Art Therapy & Guided Drawing

A gentle, body-based approach to healing through creativity.

What Is Sensorimotor Art Therapy?

Sensorimotor Art Therapy blends creative art-making with somatic (body-based) awareness. It allows you to access emotions stored in the body—beyond what words can express—using breath, movement, and intuitive drawing.

Developed through the Sensorimotor Art Therapy Institute, this approach is rooted in trauma-informed practices and expressive arts therapy.

“You don’t have to explain everything—your body can speak for you through the art.”

What Is Guided Drawing?

Guided Drawing invites you to follow your body’s impulses using both hands, big motions, and soothing materials like oil/chalk pastels or paint. This helps release tension, build awareness, and process emotion—without needing words.

No art experience needed. This is about how it feels, not how it looks.

  • Somatic awareness check-in
